In 2004 Tom DesFosses was diagnosed with Primary CNS Lymphoma a cancerous brain tumor.

Tom credits Dr. Eric Wong at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with saving his life.

In 2007 with support from family and friends, Tom rode his bike over 750 miles across New England to raise fund for Dr. Wong's work on cancer research. In 2008 Tom felt he could make this something bigger and started "A Reason To Ride".

It is now an annual event to raise critical funds for cancer care and research at BIDMC. 100% of funds raised go directly to research.
